Hammock Support Rod (For Mini-Deluxe Only)

This listing comprises of a solid one-piece 75cm long flexible PVC rod support rod.
This support rod is designed to slide into the sleeve, just below the top of the Hammock side wall, to provide structural support to the side not being held up by a grab handle strap. It adapts well to any sudden front seat adjustments and will bounce back if accidentally jumped on or over by an excited dog.
The closure of the zippers ensures the rod stays in place so we don't recommend installing one on the side being used as the entry/exit side for your dog unless you are converting it to a Basket Style (see below).
Optional Basket Conversion
If you have a small dog or puppy and would like to convert your Mini-Deluxe Hammock into a fixed basket style you can do this by installing a second rod to door side. Please note this would prevent your dog from entering from the side so we'd only suggest it for dogs who are generally lifted up and placed into the Hammock.
If you have a puppy, you may find this particulary useful because experts advise that jumping in and out of a car at too young an age can be harmful to a dog's joints and bones. When they are fully grown and ready to jump in and out by themselves you can quickly and easily convert it back. 👍
Please note: A minimum distance between front and rear seats of 75cm (at shoulder level) is required for this to suit your vehicle.
Shipping Packaging Note
Due to the dimensions of this item, it will be posted in the most economical space saving option available and not our usual mailer bags. By using a compressed water resistant, cushioned packaging material, we are able to keep shipping costs to a minimum for you.
Care Information
Should your existing support rod have become bowed (this can occur for a variety of reasons), it is possible to straighten it by bending it back carefully, small sections at a time. Take care not to bend too far back as this may cause it to snap.
Did you purchase a Mini-Deluxe in 2021?
If you purchased a Mini-Deluxe in 2021 when we released them, you would have received a two-piece style support rod with your Hammock. We upgraded these for the new one-piece style in this listing as we received some reports of the connector failing. If you haven't yet received a free replacement, please contact us prior to purchasing this item.
